Seriously? Is this an actual thing or just implicit?
I know for sure in Singapore and Western Australia that lying on duty is not a crime for a cop. I know some US states and federally have made explicit laws around entrapment to counter that. I don't believe the SPF have the time or manpower to run enticement or entrapment schemes except perhaps in political cases but I know the SPF will lie their pants off if required.
Wow, can’t say I’m too surprised but the fact that it’s actually legal is astounding to me. Could definitely see the police taking advantage of this in political cases.

My daughter used to plead the fifth whenever we’d ask her about whether she’d done her homework. Sometimes she’d say “I’m an American citizen, please take me to my embassy” and then refuse to answer any further questions. Little rascal. Will give the video a watch.
