When to apply for citizenship

Me and my partner are planning to get married Oct 2022. Both of us have been SPR for more than 2 years. Should we:

1. Apply for citizenship after we got married, and then apply as a couple, or
2. Apply individually now and update ICA after we get married
?

I reckon that would depend on how much you love your partner. If one of you is rejected will that stop you from marrying? If so, you have your answer.

Doesn’t really matter when you get married if the bottom line is that you do get married.

Thanks for the replies. We're still getting married regardless of the outcome. It's just that, is there any additional benefit in applying as a married couple?

Only one application. That ensures that both will be seen in context by the same ICA officer instead of the possibility of two different officers see two different applications and one of the officers got up on the wrong side of bed because his/her spouse cut the other off. :-/
