Okay, as expats life is great here financially, we can save a lot of money. However, we are not allowed to own real estate, 25% ABSD just doesn't make sense.
So most of us are short real estate and every year the central banks print money like mad, most asset prices shoot up and it becomes very difficult for us to buy a house when we go back to our home country.
It is a pain to buy real estate in home country and manage it from here.
So my question is how do you hedge this short on real estate? Do you increase your stock allocation or reduce it or something else?

You should watch some recent Ray Dalio videos. He explains the fiat monetary system and its phases very well. US will not be able to raise rates, with all the debt, there will be stealth loss of purchasing power and assets inflation. Cash is trash.

Bill Gross was king until he got it wrong. All the hype now on Dalio and his views.
Whatever it may be, these blokes have stops in place, vs a properly levered up risk-reward strategy.
What has the common man got?

Sg has a good reits market. You may want to look there. May not give you a good exposure to residential real estate but then good enough options to express Your views .

Short term leases of 5-6 months
Replies: 3
First post
How easy is it to find a 1-2 bedroom for short term of 5-6 months? I know most owners prefer 2 years?
Last post
Yes usually owners will request higher rent for short terms ie: 3 months - 12 months..
Many owners are also not so keen even for 1-year.
