As a Research Manager in a big US firm. My wife application done in Nov 2023 is still pending. As stated earlier not having hopes on reconsideration by way of appeal as it is just for satisfying rarest of rare case chance. Getting increased pay, promotion and kid also will be helping me I feel. Let us see. What else is the way out other than this.

She applied PR not independantly but through me
Even if spouse pr is sponsored by pr, the chance of approval might be a bit low, given the fact that we are under indian quota. Although there is a good chance she may get this time, but there is also possibility of not going through this time. If not this time, then may next time with both your profiles improved.

subsequent to the rejection of my SC application (may 2024) and PR application of my wife (June 2024 rejection). My wife was through my PR as sponsor.
Likely to have a baby in mid of 2025. Hence we both are planning to apply for SC (by me) and PR (by my wife) in July / Aug 2025. IS IT OKAY (after 1 year fm rejection)?
I have got a very decent increase in salary but my wife has got only a small increase in salary. But a new child will be a favorable factor.
ONe more thing should I apply for PR for my child or what? How child status will be?

Yes you should apply for PR for your child - so good to wait until after the child is born to include him /her in the application.

Dear Smoulder, Thanks for your advise. I am going to apply for SC - 3rd time and my wife shall apply for PR. So should my child be included in my SC application or in my wife's PR application. Your advise and the reason for the same is most welcome.

Unless you are a SC at the time of your child's birth, your child won't be able to apply for SC. So PR application is appropriate.

A small query to some one who can guide me. My wife is on EP (since 2017 April). She is planning to go to India for delivering a baby and shall spend totally about 5 months at a stretch in 2025. Will it affect
a. Her EP renewal (her current EP is valid up to Jun 2026)
b. Her PR application in Aug 2025, will it be affected by the above stay for 5 months.
For tax residency SG states 6 months out of SG, which in any case she will not and she is determined to come by the end of 5 months stay.
