Citizenship Approval chances for Msian Chinese

Post by mystic_river » Thu, 30 Sep 2021 12:37 pm

Asking for a friend for her citizenship application chances whose profile is as below:

Single, female
Race: Malaysian Chinese
Age: 27
Single
PR since 2004
Salary: 60k+
PSLE, O, A level from SG. Bachelors and Masters from US

Currently employed by a SG firm but her company has sent her to US for work indefinitely. Payroll however is in SG and she pays CPF.

What are her chances? Will working and living from US affect her chances?

50-50 as she is not physically located in SG. Else, 100% she will get it

I'd only give her a 30~40% chance as her US employment is 'indefinite'. Usually it's okay if for a fixed period of a couple of years, but if she is on a US working visa, the odds of her also applying for a Green Card are high. I'm sure if they know she is there indefinitely, it will certainly impact her application. But as SF noted, if she returns to Singapore, SGC pretty much assured.

She’s been away only a few months. She’s on B1 visa. Essentially she’s a digital nomad being paid in SGD on her SGD payroll.

REP is due in 2 years.
