Hello,
I am an EP holder & have a question regarding my length of stay in SG that would be counted for PR application, i have been living in SG from May 2014 & have stuck to a single organization since. However, in 2019, i wanted to explore new opportunities, secured a job offer around Oct/Nov of that year, my IPA was approved around Nov & my joining date was in January 2020, After serving my notice period till mid december, i went to my home back in UK for christmas holidays before starting for my new organization for a much needed vacation. The joining of my new org was in first week of jan 2020, so just the day before my join date, my old employer cancelled my EP, for the new employer to issue the new EP. However when the EP was cancelled the day before my joining date. I was still in my home country and i had to use the IPA of my new employer to enter SG.
So my question is will ICA treat this scenario as a "reset" of my stay for the PR application. i.e my previous stay of 5 years goes down in shambles ? & i have been staying in SG only from Jan 2020 i.e only for 1+ years.
Or my length of stay in SG is still considered as 7+ years for the PR application (ie from 2014).
P.S i have completed 7 IRAS tax cycles
Anyone with knowledge on this scenario, Kindly help me understand this. It will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
