I'd rather believe you would be treated like royalty unless your wife is from the wrong caste.
Kind of from a wrong caste.

You said you work in IT right? So couldn't you WFH either in India or Russia?
Sms, we could spend hours talking politics here, but let's fast-forward to the conclusion

I left Russia not because I liked everything there (however, in terms of money, it's quite good for IT people) and just decided to spend some years overseas. I left Russia because it couldn't agree with the direction the country has been going in. And I don't believe it will change. I'd rather say the country will become USSR 2.0 with a new iron curtain someday in my lifetime. Besides, long cold winters make me feel depressed. Used to be OK until 2017 or 2018. And I didn't choose Singapore back then in late 2018. I was referred, passed an interview and migrated. And after some time Singapore exceeded my expectations.
My wife and I talked a lot about where we would love to settle down, and the two options we selected eventually were Singapore and Australia. And here is our situation. Things at work are going well. Our income is growing. The income tax is low. Our investments are doing well. The only problem here is PR. Without it there is no sense of stability.
On the other hand, Australia is not very easy to get in as well. The independent visas 189, 190 are virtually impossible to get from outside the country. And coming there to live on temporary visas, hoping for the employer's sponsorship of PR (which is, as you can guess, not promised on paper), or applying independently... It all feels like a long way without a guarantee of success. I'm afraid we could regret leaving Singapore many many times if things don't go smoothly in AU.
Have a good day,
