6th person died from Covid19 in one month
Re: 6th person died from Covid19 in one month
With the recent articles especially the one i saw on bloomberg yesterday that moderna recipients' had twice as much anti bodies as pfizer recipients after few months would leave many of us heart broken as moderna was mostly shunned in favour of pfizer.

Very interesting article. You cannot conclude that Moderna recipients will remain better protected but certainly worth a longer term study, especially for those who have contracted Covid19 after being vaccinated. Which vaccine was it?sp786 wrote: ↑Wed, 01 Sep 2021 11:17 pmWith the recent articles especially the one i saw on bloomberg yesterday that moderna recipients' had twice as much anti bodies as pfizer recipients after few months would leave many of us heart broken as moderna was mostly shunned in favour of pfizer.

Re: 6th person died from Covid19 in one month
This argument has played out amongst the HPV vaccines between MSD and Pfizer for years.
The amount of antibody, the diversity and the capture strength (avidity) all play a role in how protective the vaccine effect is.
As indicated above, individuals have some variance in the way their body manufactures antibodies, so not all will generate the same complexity and diversity (antibody repertoire).
Moreover, due to above, the inability of an individual to create an effective antibody could lead to escape mutants.
From an old HIV vaccine study that I was involved in, we saw a group of young adolescents living in different parts of the US, all develop the same HIV mutation in the same week of the study after a booster shot.
I hardly hear anyone give consideration to this finding in relation to vaccine / mutant studies…

I'm speaking of protection against initial variants and the info coming out of Israel with regard to the Delta Variant is that Pfizer is only 39% effective. Obviously Delta and the various vaccines need a lot more study but seniors cannot afford too wait until they become statistics. I personally am not worried too much, but my wife is in poor health to start with. They are only talking about a booster program possibly in January.

I had to look this one up, SMS. This assertion of 80 percent loss of immunity seems to appear only in Southeast Asia news publications.sundaymorningstaple wrote: ↑Wed, 08 Sep 2021 11:43 amhttps://www.newsbytesapp.com/news/world ... nths/storyLisafuller wrote: ↑Tue, 31 Aug 2021 10:53 pmAs new variants emerge which the vaccine is not effective against you can expect efficacy to decrease. Other publications don't seem to support this number, so it's worth doing more research before coming to a conclusion..

What is really interesting is the fact that even other studies are full of holes as well, It would seem every country is doing what is necessary to push people to vaccinate and that there are no empirical studies that are convincing one way or another with the exception that all agree that Pfizer, in any case IS loosing efficacy after 4 months and that boosters are going to be necessary. Splitting hairs doesn't help anybody, as all will need booster shots due to covid's Delta variant. There are no brownie points up for grabs, only lives. If it means getting booster shots earlier I'm all for it, frankly.

I should be getting my booster jab before the end of the month based on Sg's planned rollout.

Peace, brother. I just couldn't resist.

Re: 6th person died from Covid19 in one month
I picked up my Moderna booster yesterday, based on the Israel research studies (very effective, regardless of brand), Dr. Fauci's comments, and the fact that I have a breathing disorder and have no desire to catch Covid.
Re: 6th person died from Covid19 in one month
I may walk into the a shot centre in the US when I go there and get a booster (by asking for a vaxx). My BMI is a little high which is a prime comorbidity.
