Thank you, BBCDoc, makes perfect sense. I had forgotten about the bioreactor cells in large scale production... watched that process in one show or another.

Lisa, our immune system's complexity is extremely hard to fathom. In fact, in terms of sheer system intricacy, the immune system is arguably second only to our brain.

Whilst scientists have managed to peel back many layers of complexity and know much more about the immune system's immense interconnectivity than, say, 20 years ago, truly objective women and men of wisdom are aware that we're only just beginning to get into the weeds.

Small wonder then that some of these truly objective men and women urge an appropriate amount of caution when, for instance, with the help of pharma, we try to teach the body new immune defense tricks.

Should the quest for medical advances therefore be abandoned altogether then? Clearly, no. But we do, both as a global community, as well as individually, have a moral obligation to weigh the potential benefits against the potential side-effects, short-term and long-term, of novel medical procedures, before proceeding.

On the whole, some rabid anti-vaxx conspiracy theorist groups notwithstanding, I feel this is pretty much what we've been doing Covid-wise.

Meanwhile, anyone outright claiming at this juncture that mRNA vaccines are actually safer than traditional vaccines and degrading anyone unvaccinated as stupid, is just as rabid as any barmy anti-vaxxer.
