IMHO, plant based doesn't necessarilly mean is meat free.
E.g. plant based diet does not imply meat or dairy free diet, just that the diet is rich in plants.
But for food it probably means:
- something that is often animal based is here plant based (e.g. fat, proteins, dairy)
- something that could be synthetic is here natural and derived from plants
Me? Personally, I'm a proxy vegetarian, I eat cows, cows eat plants.
