Not only the need to address mental health, their physical health should also be considered important. They go through very long hours from 7.30 am and end their day at school at about 5pm (secondary) and 4 pm for primary levels..and with masks on throughout the day.

For P5 local school, the time is from 7:30am to 1:30pm which is not bad. There are some days with CCA and other activities that stretch that time to 4:30 but with COVID, these CCA is mostly remote now.

Ya..only with Covid they're mostly remote..otherwise the time stretches to 4-6 pm.
Quite unbearable I must say, if were to wear a mask for such long hours.

Hello everyone, first time mother here. My child is turning 4 this year. When is a good time is to begin talking about sex ed? I recently read an article that says children start exploring their own bodies by the age of 4. Anyone has experience or resources to share? Appreciate it alot. Thank you.
(p.s. im having some difficulties navigating this forum.. couldnt find any other threads talking about children physical health or education. sorry if its not the most relevant

I would think around 12-13 years old, closer to puberty. Every parent would probably a different recommended age to explain the birds and the bees.

We live in the information age, any question kids don’t know is just click away. They certainly know way more than we did as kids!
It’s kinda scary… really.

I really wonder who had the bright idea to say “I identify as…” with no regard for what you really are. Maybe there are some people who are still riding on that crazy train, but even many on the far left secretly acknowledge what a joke that statement is.

Why does this whole business of gender identity rile up so many people? Who you are remains unchanged.

Even worse for kids in JC! My daughter gets up at 6:30 and isn’t done with work and CCA until 8.

Definitely uncomfortable, but better than starting a new cluster or having to attend lessons from home.

Anytime from 9-11 for girls, as they hit puberty much earlier than boys.

True, nowadays, the talk is not even necessary. Kids find out from friends in school or on the internet when their curiosity gets the better of them.

I believe its possible for someone to feel like they don’t belong to either gender, or to feel like they belong to either one on different days. However, there have been more and more “neo-pronouns” emerging- people (mostly the younger crowd) identifying as “kitten” or even “God”. I respect pronouns, but these seem like they’ve gone overboard.
