Taxation of share options granted prior to Singapore

Post by burado88 » Fri, 23 Jul 2021 3:14 pm

Can anyone confirm if I would have to pay SG income tax on share options (ESOP) already granted before relocation to Singapore (with the same employer), in particular those that vested outside Singapore? What about those that vest after relocation? Will these need to be declared and/or taxed while in Singapore?

I've seen some old threads on this topic but can't find the relevant relocation on the IRAS website anymore...

Would greatly appreciate any help or advice on this topic!! :D

The taxation in Singapore will only apply to the period you're tax resident. If you are only coming in for a few years try to postpone the vesting and sale to after you leave Singapore.
