Threadstarter, apologies for hijacking but i also need this information
Although cats are technically illegal in HDBs, the government does not actively enforce this and there are plenty of cat owners who live in HDBs without an issue.ashtag06 wrote: ↑Mon, 19 Jul 2021 7:30 pmHi,
I will be relocating to Singapore in late October with my wife who is a SC.
We are travelling from the UK and bringing our pet house cat. We were planning on staying at my in-laws HDB until we found our own place to live, however, I know cats are not allowed in HDBs.
A few questions:
- will immigration ask for the address the cat will be staying at on landing?
- If so, can we provide an address of a friend who lives in a condo where cats are allowed? This is our plan until we find a place to live given cats are not allowed in HDBs
- if we are required to quarantine for 2 weeks, what will happen to the cat? We are coming from the UK, which is a green area for bringing pets in, so the quarantine phase for pets is typically shorter. Is it also two weeks because of Covid?
Thanks
Ash
If you are coming in from a CAT 1 country, your cat will not need to be quarantined at all so the Changi facility should be of no concern to you.JWNYsg wrote: ↑Thu, 22 Jul 2021 2:36 pmThreadstarter, apologies for hijacking but i also need this information
What i know is the facility to store pets at Changi is full until end of the year currently
MOCHS, can you kindly PM me the information too please? I am looking to bring my foreign cat home with me but my registered address is a HDB. Thank you

I’m not sure, if they do ask I’m sure you can give them a friends address, but beware of any legal repercussions. Usually, the animal is purchased after housing is settled, so the government is never notified or involved.ashtag06 wrote: ↑Fri, 30 Jul 2021 6:03 amLisafuller wrote: ↑Wed, 28 Jul 2021 7:10 pmOK, great, good to know.
