10mths Ongoing Wait For PR Application

Post by archike » Wed, 14 Jul 2021 2:04 pm

Hi everyone, would like your opinion on our chances:

Applicant Profile:
Job: Lawyer
Age: 27, Married for 1+ year
Nationality: Malaysian
Race: Chinese
Length of stay in Singapore: 2+ years
Working in Singapore: 2+ years
Annual salary: S$100k (EP Holder)
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree and Bar certification from good UK university

Spouse Sponsor Profile:
Job: Data Scientist
Age: 33, Married for 1+ year
Nationality: Singapore
Race: Chinese
Annual salary: S$200k
Qualifications: Bachelor degree from local Uni

We actually have an ongoing resale purchase with HDB as well. We applied through the spouse scheme and have actually been waiting for 10 months now already with no news. Have heard of other people with almost the same profiles as us but applied through professional scheme instead of spouse scheme and got approved within 4 months.

I believe one year is quite an average wait and can be up to about 24 months as we've seen some applicants here.
