PR chances for 2021
Re: PR chances for 2021
Anecdotally, it seems to signal that a decision is imminent shortly. The decision could go either way.

Re: PR chances for 2021
Does anyone know How many days after the missing drop-down is the result out ? These few days of waiting is really haunting
Re: PR chances for 2021
So, the "drop-down-box-missing" is the new "send-more-info" email..

Re: PR chances for 2021
Maybe results might be out in two weeks. Just log in once a day in the morning is good enough.Bloombloom wrote: ↑Tue, 13 Sep 2022 10:16 amDoes anyone know How many days after the missing drop-down is the result out ? These few days of waiting is really haunting![]()

Be patient. You've already waited for many months, possibly well over a year.

Can I ask how long it takes for the IPA to be posted ? we changed house last year and also updated the address to ICA . But not sure if their records will be updated . If we don’t receive the IPA in few days can we email them and ask ?

Re: PR chances for 2021
I’m under the impression that those in the fairly high income group in India tend to go back home to India or go West.
Anecdote: I got another Indian researcher who comes from a family of medical doctors… when covid hit SG in early 2020, her family claimed that SG was “dangerous” due to the increasing case numbers and urged her to go home. Well, we knew what happened after that when India’s case numbers surged… The researcher stayed in SG but didn’t see her family for about a year.
The researcher fell and injured her knee badly around 2021, the company clinic referred her to a public hospital but as a private patient.
Her family was in disbelief that she had to wait a couple of days for an MRI and 1-2 weeks to see the orthopaedic specialist (since public hospitals can get overwhelmed even if you’re a private patient).
They urged her to come home which she did and she did her MRI & saw the specialist in a day. Her family assumed “SG’s healthcare isn’t good” due to the wait.
The thing is, if she was referred to a private hospital in SG, it can be done within a day too. Furthermore, her family has doctors, she is definitely privileged enough to have some strings pulled to “jump queue” back home, no?
Sometimes I am intrigued by how she doesn’t notice her privilege. Anyway, she’s alone here in SG and will not renew her EP next year so she’ll go back for good. She never applied for PR either.

Re: PR chances for 2021
Privilege is an interesting topic. Yes, few people realize it, including a large number in these forums, not just the Indians.
About Indians in SG and probably over 99 percent of the overseas Indians from India across the globe - they (I should say "we" actually) are all coming from positions of privilege. Most will claim it's hard work, which it is, but that's how privilege is - you fail to acknowledge that there are other major factors apart from hard work.
