SHN which hotel one gets allocated

I've seen people stayed in 5 star hotels whilst some stayed in 3 star hotel..
So how do they actually allocate who stays which hotel? Some lucky ones get the really nice ones..

It’s just a game of luck, there’s no way to cheat the system. My father just returned from Miami a couple days ago, he was allocated the Fairmont (thank goodness).

Yes… luckily he arrived in time for the 2 week SHN rule to come into effect as well.
