I would look for another country to migrate to. Canada has a massive planned intake and I know Australia will ramp theirs up after Covid is over.

That's unfortunate :/ I hope the government would realize I was a child when we migrated and I came back in the hopes of rebuilding a future here.

Singapore has a long memory, they know exactly why your parents gave up PR and see no reason to reward such behavior (which granting your PR would be seen as). Also no point applying until your husband has 3 tax returns done.

Yeah, no, it definitely wasn't with the intent of not serving NS (my brother was only 5 at the time), my dad had some health reasons to move back and he passed away a few years later. But the timing was unfortunate I guess

I was a PR from 1996-2004 when my family was here. I finished my PSLE here in 2004 and moved out, thus my family renounced their PR (I have a brother who was 5 yo in 2004, and I was 12).
I wonder how this will play out in affecting my chances for PR?

Any idea of our chances at PR? I wonder if either my ex-PR status or my husband’s inclusion (less than 1 year work ex in SG) would result in the overall rejection of my profile? Or would they strengthen it? I realise our nationality unfortunately doesn’t help at all :/

We are really keen on settling here and I have close relatives (cousin+family) who are Singaporean here - apart from several friends from the 15 years I’ve been residing here.

Any leads based on your experience would be great!

Overall chance seems to be low also taking into consideration the salary being on the low side for a PHD. Apply after 3 -5 years of your husband working in SG, with him being the main applicant and see if that helps.
