Average Salary for an International Primary Teacher

Post by Lou74 » Sun, 20 Jun 2021 10:43 pm

Hi all,

I am looking to try and find out the average salary for an International Primary Teaching post. I am hoping to secure a post for next summer and doing as much research as possible from the UK in advance in the meantime. One of the things I'm finding difficult to gauge is the average monthly/annual salary. I understand that there will be a range and this will depend on experience (I have 20 years Primary teaching experience in the UK) so any bench marks would prove most helpful and will give me an idea of my standard of living. I would be moving with a 16 year old who would need to do her A-Levels/IB diploma in the same school and would also assume that housing and medical would come as part of the package.

Any advice or help on this would be most welcome and many thanks in advance.

Thanks for this link. It raises many questions, but I can use it as a starting point in my planning. I need to decide on my future place of residence, and I'm choosing between Singapore and London. In turn, Singapore is my old dream, and I'd stop respecting myself if I gave it up. However, the wrong choice of job place can define my life for the next 3 years, and I want to avoid mistakes in any way.

Its around SGD7,000 per month on average.

Edit: the best way to find a job at an International School is to attend a job fair. The link on my signature is for one group that run these but there are other groups as well.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
