EP to PEP - need help

Post by peterparker » Sat, 05 Jun 2021 12:43 pm

Dear Forum, I am an EP holder looking to convert to PEP to have more flexibility in changing roles. Can I apply for PEP in my current Employer's name, or do I need to find a new job and apply in the new employers name? I am not worried about current employer finding out about a PEP application.
Thanks in advance for any advice :D

You can only apply for PEP in you own name. You current employer is not your sponsor.

Thank you. But the Section 2B asks for employment details. If one were to complete that with current employer details (who is currently EP sponsor), would that cause problems with MOM?
Thanks

Who would you use otherwise to show your last six month pay slips for if you didn't use your current employer???

No offense but are you sure you are qualified to apply for PEP. Sure doesn't sound like it. I suggest you go back and read the requirements for applying, but this time, read for context and content.

Hello, these are the supporting documents that they want :

Personal particulars page of the applicant’s travel document. If there are any amendments to the particulars (e.g. name or expiry date), please include the pages confirming them.
 Applicant’s educational certificates
 Employment contracts for the applicant’s new and previous employment (if any)
 (If the applicant is not a current Employment Pass holder in Singapore) Employment history stating the company name, occupation, fixed monthly salary (S$), country and period of employment.
 Applicant’s latest tax statement
 Applicant’s payslips and bank account statements for the past 3 months

So, I'm currently an EP holder, looking for another role, earn enough to qualify for PEP, am aware that PEP is a one-shot.

Thanks

New would fall under IF ANY. all the rest is self explanatory.

Update - reached the 8th week mark. Called MOM and asked to expedite and was given a case number. My new employer is getting nervous and has been unable to submit an EP application whilst the PEP is under review. I need to get this all sorted out within the next 3 weeks

Hi All

Don't see any thread on PEP till now. I have submitted my application yesterday for PEP via Singpost manually.

Does anyone have any experience in terms of timelines etc it might have taken in their case for PEP? My understanding is it might take anywhere b/w 5week to 10week although MoM website take that general processing time is 8week

Wish me good luck :)

Thanks

Hi
In my case it was 8.5 weeks, with 2 chaser phone calls. However, I didn't use Singpost, I uploaded the application and supporting docs online.
Cheers and all the best

Hi Peter, as a matter of interest i understand that PEP cannot be renewed and is just a one time pass valid for 3 years. What is your plan after the expiry? Would be targeting to get an EP based on assumption that things would get better by that point?
