*do i stand any chance to get REP extension for at least 1 year? as actually hope to re enter SPORE in early Yr2022 due to current Covid-19 situation and need take k of some family issue in m'sia.
* if high chance to get rejected - shall I return to Spore before current REP expires and only renew it after secure a new job?

You need to get back here and renew in country ASAP.

If you try to renew outside Singapore I'm 100% certain it will fail. There have been media reports of this happening.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Note that this is impossible "OR if back to spore After renewal is rejected, possible to appeal after getting new job?".

You need to reapply from scratch

hi all
following this discussion, assuming one managed to come back to SG before REP expiry and not yet gainfully employed when REP is expiring and have no plans to travel out of Sg any time soon ...
1. would it be better to delay REP renewal until full time employment is secured (and therefore stretch the REP validity when it eventually gets renewed) or
2. renew REP before expiry (even though there is no need to renew until there is a need to travel out) i.e. does it become more difficult/onerous to renew REP after REP has expired?

3. and for purpose of REP renewal, would evidence of self employed income be sufficient for REP renewal, or would employment with cpf contributions be more favourable for REP renewal?

I am also a PR PTS scheme with a 1 year rep renewal and managed to return to SG, but now face the dilemma of REP renewal without my usual "professional and technical" employment.

any input much appreciated, thank u.

If you only had a 1 year renewal the last time that was to give you a chance to get yourself back in the country to a) take up employment in Singapore, or, b) get your affairs in order to vacate Singapore. I wouldn't bet on you getting a renewal although they might possibly give you one more 1 year renewal, but it would be a first that I've heard of, but having said that, we've never been in the time of covid before so it will be a gamble. I would start making departure plans as a backup. Had you gotten your PR on the Family Ties scheme, you wouldn't have any problem. I've been there and done that, staying here at one point for 15 months without an REP. I was told it wasn't necessary on the Family Ties scheme by the officer there that I spoke with. Sadly, I neglected to ask about the PTS scheme but others I believe have confirmed you need to have a position as your whole premises for PR is your job skills, not family ties. Without that job, I wouldn't bet a wooden nickel to be honest.

I would humbly ask that you keep us updated on any information you happen to gain in this regard, either successfully or not.
