question on employment pass

Post by 18758184 » Tue, 18 May 2004 4:17 pm

the company is working on my ep and i have one question. is it true that if you earn more than $3500 a month, a P pass would be granted? will they be looking at other criterias? i will be working as an in-house advisor for a big mnc here and my monthly salary, excluding all other allowance/housing, is well above that line.

this is important as my parents may need to visit us and the grand children under a ltsvp which only a p pass holder can sponsor. any advice on this will be highly appreciated.

A salary of above S$3500 is required for a P pass, but you must also be working in a "professional, administrative, executive or managerial" position, as opposed to merely being a "specialist". What the difference is, I doubt even the ICA knows... but if your salary is much above S$3500 and you have a fancy job title ("Assistant VP of Synergy Optimization") at Singapore's favorite three-letter acronym MNC, then you will probably get a P pass.

thanks a lot for the info. i don't have a title than fancy but do u think a "legal advisor" in probably the biggest foreign investor in singapore would be ok for a p pass? i have been working in a famous firm for a number of years before i joined this company.
