SG Citizenship - probability for approval

Post by apache99sg » Sat, 15 May 2021 8:56 pm

Hi,
I would like to apply for SG citizenship and I would like to know the forum opinion on my probability of getting approved given my single status and age.

Male
Single
Age 50
Indonesian Chinese
Income: $150-$200K per annum
PR since Dec 1995
Bachelor's Degree from an Australian University
Doesn't own a property in Singapore (I used but I sold and I have not bought since as I owned a property overseas)

Thank you for the advice!

Chances seem okay, your salary is more than enough to support yourself and there is a large quota for your race. The only concerns would be your age and the fact that you are unmarried and without children.

A potential negative thing I can see is why did you take so long to apply for citizenship after you got your PR? Chances would have been even better if you applied for it 3-5 years after you got your PR.

well, there were several failed plans of moving to another countries. So after 25 years, I think it is time to change the citizenship. I did receive an invitation to take up citizenship in my late 20s but I didn't take up due to the plan that I had.

yeah, age and unmarried are the points of my concern too. Not sure if there is cut off for people in my situation.

Another major factor might be that you didn't take up the offer to become a citizen 20 years ago. That's probably not going to be viewed favorably. The gahmen has a long memory.

Sorry dude but I don't think your chances are good. Don't see any value add to sg society with your profile.
Age is working against you. Not married. Had your chance in your 20s but u turned them down. No sign of roots (no property). No kids.

Sorry for being blunt but that's the truth in my opinion

You’ll need a lot of luck then. The SG government will remember you rejected their invitation in your 20s and it’ll be hard for you when you apply now...

Yes, the government doesn’t forget so that will not be taken kindly. Best of luck.
