You definitely can under Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme but take note if you’re getting a HDB loan, only the Singaporean’s salary is considered, not the foreigner spouse’s salary as the logic is HDBs can only be owned by Singaporeans/PRs.

Same logic applies for housing grants too. Even if you have formed a family unit, you’ll only be eligible for a singles grant.

I’m a Singaporean with a foreigner husband and bought a resale flat with my salary alone. I understand all the challenges. It’s tough but definitely do-able. You’ll just have to be more prudent with your budget.

If you have a Singaporean child, it’s a whole different story altogether and you can buy under a different eligibility scheme.

We’ve just bought a resale HDB using “Public Scheme”

She is the SC and we have a SC born child. If we did not have a child, then we would have had to go down the Non Citizen Spouse route.

We haven’t taken out a loan, though, so I can’t help with that!
