child born in USA not included in SG Citizenship

Post by BigsavingssgSingapore » Wed, 07 Apr 2021 11:35 am

Hi Experts,

I applied for my wife SG Citizenship who has been having PR since 2007, my 2nd child was born in the USA and is US Citisen, this child has not been included in the SG Citizenship application (However, 1st Child is holding SG Citizenship). ICA emailed me and inquiring that Am I sponsoring SG Citisenship for that 2nd CHILD too along with wife's application. I replied that I'm not sponsoring for that Child.

Did anyone face this kind of situation? what would be likely outcome of my wife SG Citizenship application having replied that I'm not sponsoring for my 2nd child. Please advise.

Is your first child born in Singapore and acquired citizenship by birth?

Is your second child a boy?

If the USC child is a male and is not included with the wife's application, it's likely to fail. In fact, it's almost a guaranteed failure as the ICA will be very aware of the perfidy of what you are trying to do.

SMS is right, by excluding your second child (assuming he is male) you make your intentions very clear.
