Appeal on PR rejected recently

Man, Singapore PR feels like a lottery.

Not sure how they hand out PRs here.

You must be new here. Every application is handled on a case by case basis. Unless you’re a carbon copy of your friend.

You failed to mentioned the following:

- Applied on own merit or via spousal sponsor?
- Your nationality, race, and age
- Your spouse’s race and age
- Your salary & occupation
- Your length of marriage
- Any criminal records/bankruptcy
- Spent a significant outside of SG repeatedly over the past 15 years
- Etc.

PR has CMIO quota. Fall into any of the minority races and you’ll be competing with every other candidate.

Age does play a part for obvious reasons.

Salary too high and ICA might feel you will up lorry any time and resettle elsewhere.

Too short of a marriage and ICA might feel you married just for a PR aka marriage of convenience.

The rest are self explanatory once you browse through the anecdotal evidence on the forum.

I haven't read the forums and yes you can see my tag I am new to the forum. Did not spend more than 3 or 4 weeks out of Singapore in a year. No criminal records in Singapore or overseas. Not so sure what you mean by "carbon copy of my friend" comment though. My salary was over the average but not high. We applied based on spousal sponsor as we thought it will make the application stronger. Rest of the questions I would rather not share on a public forum. However, the other scenario I have explained above doesn't make sense for my friend's case. How can they give PR to someone who haven't, isn't and will not be contributing to Singapore economy or otherwise. It is definitely like a lottery, spend 2 years married to a Singaporean without any other contributions to Singapore, get a PR instantly. I have been definitely married longer than my friend and have a baby boy as well. If Singapore still thinks that after giving this country more than 15 years of my youth wasn't worth it then best scenario is to look elsewhere right? Anyway, this was my rant for the day.

Sadly, with an entitled attitude issue that you are exhibiting, then maybe your last comment is your best bet. You didn't do a search of our huge archives before posting? That's was the search engine is for. You come here with you hat in your hand and then rail at the answer you receive when you don't provide sufficient information.

Singapore gave you a job that you admit pays you an over average salary at the expense of a citizen in all likelihood. They do not owe you anything. You didn't give them anything, including your youth. Nothing was stopping you from leaving. In fact, they put up with you and allowed you to continue to take a Singaporeans job for 15 years.

You may, along with other issues we don't know about, be of the most crowded demographic (for PR applications) with the smallest allotted numbers and the highest salaries/academics. But because you don't supply us all the necessary general information, we can only give you answers/opinions based on what you give us.

@Nav5700, carbon copy means identical, same, sama sama, copy and paste, photocopy.

Means you and your friend same age, race, nationality, education history, salary, occupation, house, family, etc... which is unlikely.

No one knows how ICA hands out PR so people don’t game the system. That’s the way it is.

OP keeps using the phrase “educated in a Singaporean University”. Can it be more exact? Is it a bachelor or master degree graduated from NUS or NTU?
