LTVP and LOC

Post by Avis » Sun, 21 Mar 2021 9:57 pm

Hi guys,

I will be graduating from SMU in the next few months and will be eligible for LTVP.
I had some doubts regarding it.

1. Will I be able to work part-time while I hold LTVP?
2. Will I be able to get a letter of consent if I get a job or is it only for those married to a PR or citizen? Or is the only way for me to work is by getting a EP?(Chance of getting a job with EP looks a little bleak given the year.)

Thank you for the answer and your time.

1. Employer still needs to apply for letter of consent (LOC) for you.

2. Check the MOM LOC website.
If you are holding an LTVP/LTVP+ issued by ICA or a Pre-approved Letter of Consent (PLOC), this does not affect you.
Check the ICA LTVP website.

Since you fall under, “Graduate from an Institute of Higher Learning seeking employment in Singapore”, you’ll need a LOC.

Pre-approved letter or consent (PLOC) is only for “eligible Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP/LTVP+) holders who are spouses or children of Singaporean or permanent resident to work in Singapore.”

LOC =/= PLOC. They are different. Don’t confuse yourself.

You are only eligible for LOC.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your input.

But does this mean I am eligible to get a LOC. It is not limited to LTVP holders who are married to Singapore citizen or PR?

https://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permi ... ligibility

Because, in the above link, it says,

To be eligible for a Letter of Consent, you need to be one of the following:

A Dependant’s Pass holder who is a dependant of an Employment Pass, EntrePass or Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) holder.
An LTVP or LTVP+ holder who is married to a Singaporean or permanent resident.
An unmarried child (under 21 years old) of a Singaporean or permanent resident, who holds an LTVP.

You can always clarify with MOM.
