Thanks - yeah that’s what I’m hoping! Just as I got my PR the GFC hit but luckily I got a new job back in my home country - so there’s not much in my CPF
. However I kept it in place just in case I ever returned (and now I’m returning in the middle of a pandemic....).
Actually, this may be a diff topic but - if I get my Employment Pass and reenter SG - do you know if my previous PR status reactivates (ie I need to start paying CPF again) ....or has my previous PR status completely expired and, to get PR again, I would have to re-apply...
Appreciate your insights!
Your old PR is gone. Won't reactivate etc. You will have to work here again for N years on EP and then reapply for PR. Even then there is no guarantee that you will get it back.

Everydayisfriday, you only savings grace is the fact that you left your CPF intact. As SF said, even that is not a guarantee that you will eventually PR, but with that fact, I can say unequivocally, that you would have no chance of regaining PR at some point in the future. Remember, you already jumped ship once. Jumped so fast that you even left your CPF here. They might say what's to stop him from doing it again? ICA & MOM have extremely long and vindictive memories.

Thank you both! Just wanted to make sure I didn’t unknowingly reactivate my old PR and have all the obligations of a PR without realizing it. Sounds like that won’t happen - so all good. Hopefully I get my EP soon and can get to SG - happy to buy you guys a beer for all the helpful and free advice there is on this forum! Cheers

Hi my EP application was submitted on 29th March and the status is still pending. The wait is killing me
Any idea when I should be really worried about the outcome? If a rejection is expected, would it have come by now? Yesterday was the 3 week mark

Maybe check with your employer if MOM asked for additional information / documents that they didn't tell you ?

Okay, nothing to do now but wait...
I noticed others here take as long as 8 weeks.

Mine submitted on 12 Mar and still pending.
I have been working in SG since more than 10 years and changing jobs with basic salary of 200k+. This long wait period is both surprising and killing.

Maybe you should have read a fair number of threads here before you posted. Then you would have known it's not surprising at all.

That’s actually good news in my view. Having an out of the norm delay would have been worrying.

4 weeks plus already for me. Checked with HR and they said it's not uncommon these days. Quite a few applications are taking longer time due to extra scrutiny. It's just that, I see some getting approvals within a couple of weeks. Probably depends on role, firm etc.
Eitherway, can only wait and pray. Hopefully we get it soon

Hi All: As an update, I got my new EP approved on 25 April (application submitted 5 April). Pretty much within the 3 week process time frame. I applied from outside Singapore and now making arrangements to start my new job in Singapore soon. Good luck to everyone else!

HR got back today that MOM asked for extra documents/information from the employer and the application is under further review required

Hi, did the HR tell you if it's extra documentation from the employer side or extra documentation to verify your credentials?
My application was also submitted on 26th of March and until now it's still pending although the HR has told me that MOM has not reached out to them yet.
