Ah, I actually did a fun little exercise for myself (because I have way too much time on a Friday evening).
You can actually refer to population in brief released each year here and get a sense of what your chances are:

Me being a Pakistani PR, I am categorized under Indians here, and my age is 32 years. So with that information, coupled with the plethora of information available in the pdf above, my chances of getting SC is this:
total Indian citizens at 7.5% = 264,00
total Indian residents at 9.0% = 363,000
total Indian PRs = 100,000 out of 521,000 PRs
Total PRs in age group 30-39 = 112,000
Total Indian PRs in age group 30-39 = 112,000/5 = 22,400
Total Indian PRs who apply for SC at 40% (conservative guess) = 9000
Total citizenships granted = 22,714
Total citizenships granted for age group 31-40 = 5,565
Total citizenships granted for age group 31-40 for asian countries (non SEA) = 1780
Total citizenships granted to Indians for age group 31-40 (guesstimate) = ~1000
Chances of SC for Indians of age group 31-40 = 1 in 9
Of course, I'm making a lot of assumptions here and ethnicity is not just one factor affecting your application, so take this with a grain of salt, You could be an Indian and your chances could 8 in 9 because of something else in your profile, no one knows. But this gives you a good general idea.
