Where to upload cover letter

Post by Ash111 » Sun, 28 Feb 2021 8:50 pm

Hi,

Could someone advise where can i upload cover letter in my PR application. (I know there is no provision to upload as it seems not required) But the reason is: I was born PR but my parents left spore my age 9, and did'nt renounce PR formally, however we lost PR. Now am in work pass. I need to add a cover letter reasoning why we left singapore. Could someone advise the way to upload cover letter and local SC testimonials? Or anything else that would state the reason of leaving?

Hi sundaymorningstaple,

Can you elaborate? In what sense i am wasting money? Do you mean that i have low low chance of PR?

I am applying by my own not with agencies, However, i contacted mindef, and they replied that i am not liable for NS as i left before the liable age. I believe that i have a pretty good profile, am hitting a try.

Ok, Assume that they have the reasoning, where to upload it?

Presumably you would just submit it with the rest of your PR application. Alternatively you can email ICA and they should be able to help.

What possible reasonable explanation could there be for not complying with the rules?

Hi, it was a situation for solving the bad situation here, it might not be overcome if we didn’t leave. There was no illegal movements or legal charges either

Ash111 - you may need the assistance of an MP to high light the case to ICA. I don't think a standard letter will work and as you have noted there is no where to upload it. This was done because frankly there were a lot of BS artists out there.

Go to an MP session and see if they will write to ICA on your behalf (separate to your application but referencing it).
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

PNGMK, if they are no longer PR's or SGC, the MP normally will not write a letter of supplication. He can try, but should be advised, that normally ICA doesn't give much credence to those letters, truth be known. (unless you MP is from AMK and is the PM).

On the upside, however, he did manage to get a work pass here, so maybe there have been some relaxation of the formerly draconian measures they used to follow. Give it a try but hold no illusions. Maybe Mindef has relented a bit.

Well I agree but I don't think there are many options otherwise.

With ethnic quotas hard to come by, why would you think that ICA would prioritize this applicant over thousands of others?
