In UK/Sth Africa for last 14 days travel ban lifting?

Post by BrendonJ » Sat, 27 Feb 2021 4:36 pm

Hi,

Currently if a person has been in the UK or South Africa for the last 14 days they can't come into Singapore. When do people think ban this will be lifted? We are planning ahead for a EP and DP application shortly however my wife is pregnant so don't really want to be moving from the UK to say Dubai for 14 days (to wait out the 14 day period) before being able to fly into Singapore.

Many thanks,

There’s no way to tell when restrictions will be lifted. Anything you hear from others is most likely speculation. You can try emailing the ICA and see if they have any information.

I’m in the same boat. Have had my EP and partners DP approved but they have still given no indication on when this ban will end.

Just a waiting game at the moment!

Hadn’t thought about Dubai for 14 days though...

Thanks all, sounds like its the waiting game

@Rossb9 how long (weeks) did it take to get your guys EP/DP approved out of interest? And may I ask if youre working for a small company (as I am) or a larger Bank/lawfirm etc?
Yep Dubai has no stay at home requirements so good place to wait things out. Also Thailand/Phuket has SAH hotels on the beach so thats also an option. Then its just a flight or train to SIng

Took around 4 weeks for my EP to be approved. Then my partners took about 6 weeks as we put them through separately.

Working for a small Singapore based company, no international presence.

Will have to look into those a little more as it is a killer just sat here waiting now ha
