Salary in lieu

Post by Definitelynotexpat » Tue, 23 Feb 2021 4:11 pm

Hi, the contract for my job states that I need to serve a two months notice if I want to leave and If I don't serve the full two months, I will have to pay salary in lieu of one month. If I tell them that I only plan to serve one month notice and willing to work that month for free to pay the salary in lieu but halfway through that month they let me go early, do I have to pay back the remaining amount? Thanks

Did you breach the terms of your contract? If so, I don't think you have a leg to stand on.
