Hello experts,
For family planning purposes, I am trying to get a realistic assessment of the likelihood of attaining citizenship. I'll state the facts below - may I ask for your honest opinion?
Whilst I do think there are some strong spots (high income, education, career progression), I am mindful that there are challenges ('Other' ethnicity in particular, not young). Thank you so much.
* Ethnicity: Korean
* Annual income: $1.5m
* Education: Harvard
* Career: Currently a Principal at a world-leading fund, Board of Director at 4 companies across Asia
* Age: 48
* Family: wife, 14year old son, college age daughter
* Status: PR
* Duration of stay in SG: Total 3 years. (First arrived in early 2018, family all applied for PR in '19 and was approved last month)
Our intention is to apply for citizenship after 2 years. It is particularly important for my son, as being a Korean national and a Singapore PR means that he has NS obligations in 2 countries. Whilst I am genuinely supportive of doing one's duty (I served 3 years), it would be heartbreaking if he had to lose 4~5 years in total because of this dual obligation.
Would you be kind enough and share your honest view on the likelihood of attaining citizenship? Thank you very much.
