Certificate of being alive
Would anyone know from which party should I try to get a statement here in Singapore of being alive? ICA? Or MHA or SPF?
It's silly paperwork but seems to be needed.
I'd need one to submit together with a proxy to give someone rights to sign some legal paperwork back in Europe. Normally I'd handle this while I travel over there but well the travel options are quite slim.
So in case anyone has managed to get similar paperwork done earlier any ideas much appreciated

Can you not do a Power of Attorney which you sign in front of a lawyer?ProvenPracticalFlexible wrote: ↑Wed, 10 Feb 2021 6:31 pmWould anyone know from which party should I try to get a statement here in Singapore of being alive? ICA? Or MHA or SPF?

I can sign a power of attorney that is good enough without a lawyers extra fees, so would prefer some simple statement issued by authority with a reasonable fee. Lawyers will probably not put any statement without some hundreds of fees, and this is definitely not a million dollar deal I need it for.

Proof of life can be done by video with a current newspaper discussing a current topic I believe.
I have some suicidal friends who I insist post "proof of life" occasionally. Pisses them off but less pissed off than I am having to talk them out of topping themselves again.

I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

You may check with your local embassy. They usually do it at a lower cost than lawyers.ProvenPracticalFlexible wrote: ↑Wed, 10 Feb 2021 7:27 pmI can sign a power of attorney that is good enough without a lawyers extra fees, so would prefer some simple statement issued by authority with a reasonable fee. POA with local lawyers costed me some time ago ca $70. The problem is elsewhere- such POA needs to certified by:ProvenPracticalFlexible wrote: ↑Wed, 10 Feb 2021 7:27 pmI can sign a power of attorney that is good enough without a lawyers extra fees, so would prefer some simple statement issued by authority with a reasonable fee. 1) SAL (if I remember correctly)
2) MFA
3) Embassy
All costing you money and time of course.
But perhaps for just a simp0le statement a lawyer would be enough. Afterall, what is needed is some credible witness that can verify your identity and state the fact.

thanks all. Found out embassy can do it, just due to these covid times need to book time, and the onsite visits are only twice a week slots. But anyway seems like the easiest.
