Both myself and my wife are on EP's from two different companies. She is planning to quit and stay home with our child and would need a DP. My question is - can my company apply for her for a DP prior to her resigning from her company and giving up the EP. The reason I ask is that I would be concerned if she quit her job, gave up her EP, then when we go to apply for her DP she doesnt get approval due to the current climate, new rules they may bring in etc etc. I note recently that ICT employees on EP's are not allowed get approval for DP's for their families. I'll be speaking with my HR this week about it but figured I would reach out to you all on here as Id say you have more experience with this topic. We are here in Singapore almost 7 years.

Should be fine, but I would also feel more comfortable getting IPA letter before cancelling the EP, assuming that is possible.

Re: EP to DP
I just had confirmation that you can apply for DP while on an EP. DP wont be issued until the EP is cancelled.
