Trip to Cameron Highlands/Perhentian Isles

I am heading up to Malaysia next month and will be heading to KL then hopefully to the Cameron Highlands before the Perenhatian islands- I want to do this in a week.

Can anyone recommend any good accommodation in the Cameron Highlands/treks?

Is it possible to go straight from there to the islands or will I have to go back to KL?

ask for the redhouse when u are up in cameron highlands. its an old english inn originally built for the engish manager who was looking after the tea plantations up there. this house was converted into a guesthouse, has about 8 rooms, all with attached bathrooms...very reasonable prices..the last time i spend a week there and just cost us just 90 ringgit for the 5 nights, inclusive of breakfast!
