Early Childhood Teaching for Australians

Hello everyone, I will be completing a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education at the end of this year and am looking at Singapore as a possible destination to teach in. I've heard that for expats, International Schools are the only option - however I don' t have any previous experience in this field (except for ESL teaching in China). Due to this, would Singapore even be an option for me? Thanks.

Your options are mainly International Schools and enrichment centres.
Do you have a degree? If not, you face an uphill challenge I'm afraid.
Your experience in China will help. Do you have any sort of tefl qualification? It would not be needed for the enrichment centres (tho it doesn't hurt obviously) but International Schools would expect it—preferably a CELTA.

I don't think many expats get hired in pre schools but I'm not completely sure. British Council pre school could be an option to look into.

I don’t think it’s a sector that pays very well in Singapore.

IT would be worth looking at the International School recruitment websites as well as school websites directly (like the AIS.edu.sg one).

The ISS recruitment website (I am not affiliated but my wife uses it) is in my signature.

Yes, I do have a degree - but it's in Humanities. I also have a TESOL.

Degree can be a prerequisite for obtaining an EP, which is ideally what u should be looking for to make the move financially viable.
Just do some research for enrichment centres and International Schools.
Then supplement that with research into high-end kintergartens etc.
Ya have a chance but will require perseverance on your end and it may not work out.
