I'll be moving there with my kids this year. I have a 6-year old son, and I hope I can find him a montessori primary school there. I was hoping it would not have to be an International School, as long as he will be educated montessori-style. Is there a school you recommend? We will most likely be living on the east cost. Thanks! :D

Sorry,
there is no primary Montessori in Singapore. Mine goes to a Montessori kindergarten, and when that's over, that's it for Montessori here, unfortunately. Canadian International School claims to integrate Montessori concepts into their programme, but you'd have to pay them a visit to see how they live up to that claim. In any case, it has one of the better reputations for primary education here.
Good luck with finding a school!

We are moving there next month and I am looking for either an int'l or a Montessori kindergarten in Singapore. Which one does your child go to? There seem to be so many Montessori kindergartens there, I would really appreciate some feedback to narrow down my choices.

Have you also heard of a "Cambridge" something "Academy" ? Someone told me of a school bus, with many expat children about the age of 4~5, coming to his compound, but couldn't fully remember the name.

Any info would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Don't rush. There are many choices. The best way is to visit the potential schools before you make up your mind. Many things you need to consider such as teachers and students, the environment, locations and programs etc.

There is no primary Montessori school. Local schools are very different from Montessori method. Int'l schools tend to be close to the similiar direction.

There are many kindergartens named "Montessori" but many of them are not really using Montessori Method and their teachers may not be qualified. You have to be careful when you shop around. That's why you better visit the schools not one time but 2 or 3 times at different time. 100 % using Montessori Method may not be what you like and it's difficult to find here. You also need to consider other issues like I said teachers, environment, locations etc.

My son is in a Montessori kindergarten called "Faith Montessori". Again, my needs may not be your needs. Goodluck!

Hi - just an update. There's now a new Montessori primary school in Singapore. I have visited it and really like its intimate atmosphere and genuinely caring teachers : http://lodestar-montessori-school.business.site/

They have a Facebook page as well which has more info: https://www.facebook.com/lodestarmontessorischool/

Thanks
