This has been my motto for this year. I mean Im not suicidal but thinking that all of us will die makes me enjoy the present. Am I normal?

The first part “we will die anyways” is right thinking - absolutely no value in worrying.

The second part “why care about others” is wrong thinking - there is great value in caring about others... it’s probably the one thing that provides the most fulfillment in life.

Good point, everyone needs some “me time” - to get away and have some solitude... reflect on the past, evaluate the now and contemplate the future.

It sounds like Hedonism. Not a great path to go down as it usually ends with you dying in a gutter with a needle in your arm.

Stoicism beats Hedonism every time.

While it is true that we will all die eventually, the idea that we have no reason to care for others is a pretty bad attitude to adopt. Like malcontent wrote, there is great value in caring for others. It is the relationships we foster with others that make our lives worth living.

Agreed Lisa. Material possessions are nothing in the long run. To an agnostic or atheist their only immortality is what people remember of them once they are dead.
