I'm not sure if this has bearing but here's my profile
Age: 33
Race: Local Indian
Nationality: Singaporean
Gender: Male
Profession: Accountant
Salary: (current) 96K PA
Wife
Age: 29
Race: Indian
Nationality: India
Profession: HomeMaker
Married since: Feb 2020 in Singapore
Current Status: LTVP since June 2020
We just started trying for kids. Why I said I made a mistake was because I applied PR for her circa July 2021, when some posts here recommended to wait 2 years or more at least.. whereas it's only been a year and a half roughly when I applied. Also my salary when I applied was way lower, I was at a small singapore startup (42k p.a) with equity options, but since moved on from there.
I'd just like to update folks here that we've received approval! Words can't explain how we feel at this moment.
Thanks everyone for the advice and the numerous posts that I read that answered my questions regarding what I should expect, calming myself down when it took a while etc. This place is a treasure trove of information and has amazing contributors dishing out great advice.![]()

Super, that is reinsuring. Our EP has been renewed for 3 years in summer 2021. Thank you!sundaymorningstaple wrote: ↑Tue, 28 Jun 2022 1:27 amI'd say 60 to 70% base on the fact that while close, neither has breached the 40 year old point, yet. His ethnicity will probably more than offset his nationality and as noted, If he's the main applicant. The spouse, while equal footing either case, has a low quota and I don't believe it is given much weightage as the Main applicant. They are considered as flight risks but I betting his ethnicity will offset that. I'd buy a ticket and take the chance, but only if they have already had an EP renewal and not on the initial EP. Otherwise, wait until after the EP is renewed the first time, then apply. I wish them good luck.
Sorry for not mentioning marriage length and kids. No kids yet and married in Singapore last summerMOCHS wrote: ↑Mon, 27 Jun 2022 6:01 pmYou didn’t mention how long you’ve been married for and whether there are any children.lialechtka wrote: ↑Mon, 27 Jun 2022 4:04 pmDear experts,

Pro: Your race has the most quota
Cons: Your wife’s race has the least quota, your ages, salary is a bit high that ICA might feel you two could be a flight risk and parachute to another country at the lure of better pay.
Chances lean toward low unless senior members of the forum are able to give a more positive outlook on your profile.
I'm afraid I have to bow to our resident eagle eye here, MOCHS. She caught what I missed. I don't see children on the cards either as with both nearing 40 I'm sure you all know the hazards of childbirth once you reach 40 if it's a first pregnancy. Unless you have been married at least 2 years, your odds of success decreases dramatically. Unless something out of the ordinary happens you will probably see a rejection unless two years have transpired prior to the date of application. I'll have to adjust my assessment to 40~50% but hope that I am wrong.lialechtka wrote: ↑Tue, 28 Jun 2022 4:15 pmSuper, that is reinsuring. Our EP has been renewed for 3 years in summer 2021. 50-50 chance now. if rejected, likely will get it on the second attemptlialechtka wrote: ↑Tue, 28 Jun 2022 4:17 pmSorry for not mentioning marriage length and kids. As more senior members of the form have pointed out, chances are low to fair now but will certainly increase when you have kids. Still, don’t be too caught up with playing the statistics game and just let nature take its course.lialechtka wrote: ↑Tue, 28 Jun 2022 4:17 pmSorry for not mentioning marriage length and kids. Better to wait for 6 months in new company and then reapply. else you need to submit letters from past company + latest company and still low chance of getting it approvedpakchoy wrote: ↑Fri, 01 Jul 2022 11:06 am(did not want to create a new thread, but this maybe a little out of topic).
I've been in Singapore for (almost) 2 years now, but I'm starting a new job next Month.
Once I start in the new company, ideally I want to immediately apply for PR, but one of the required documents is this:
A9 Current Employer’s letter stating the date of employment, position held, salary per month for the past 6 months with breakdown into basic, overtime and allowance per month
Do I need to wait until my 6th Month in the new company?
Regardless of the probability, can I technically apply under that condition?
If I worked in the ICA, I would have the coders modify the site to reject people trying to hit the submit button without the correct documents
