SMS, I don’t think he’s encouraging stupidity here. I think he’s just implying that he knew a result (whether favorable or not) was imminent.
I should hope most people here know by now that the button disappearing simply means a decision has been made, whether favorable or not

I wish they did, but with the frequency that it shows up in posts is, in my opinion, a dead giveaway that they still thinks it means something other than the fact that they are not requiring an additional documents "at that time". We have had the occasional post with someone whose button reappeared and an email requesting additional documents.
Okay, maybe not stupidity, but not using common sense either as the reader looking for an answer, will take it to assume that the disappearance of the button is a sign that 'positive' outcome is imminent, which is patently untrue. Yes our regulars will know that, but to the browser who doesn't register or otherwise post, can easily make the wrong interpretation.

I am working as electronic engineer in semiconductor company. Take note that the PR application is for my wife who is currently a LTVP holder without any employment, so there is a chance to get PR for her under my sponsorship? ( as i thought it is hard or not possible to get PR for unemployed person, cos no CPF later?)
Yes only via sponsor and not on her own
Good news to share. We made it! Submitted on 9 March 2021, found button missing on 13 May 2022 (14 months total) , able to log in CPF on 19 May, receive letter on 20 May, ICA website update on 21 May 12:12am..
Trying to login to a government system before receiving the letter may result in issues. What if in case it was rejected, but you tried to login to CPF?
Better is to wait for a few more days for the letter to arrive and then based on the outcome proceed?
You have waited 14 months - what is waiting another 5-7 days?

Hi,
Would be really helpful if someone can review our PR probability based on my profile.
Myself (main applicant on EP)
Race/Ethnicity: Indian
Education: Bachelor's degree from India
Also have additional professional certifications
Job: Cloud Engineer/Architect
Salary: 110k + bonus
Duration of stay in Singapore: 5 years
Marital Status: Married (since 2020)
Spouse (on DP)
Race/Ethnicity: Indian
Education: Bachelor's degree from India
Not employed currently/looking for work
Duration of stay in Singapore: 1.5 years
Also,.would the probability of acceptance be higher/lower if I applied as solo applicant vs applying as family with spouse ?

Low chance. But since you are in the Cloud space, go ahead and apply. Keep hopes low.
Applying as a family is always better than applying alone.

Thanks for the info. Forgot to mention that I am 30 years old and spouse is 27. Does that impact our (already low) chances ?

Age wise you both are very much ok.
Assuming 8-9 years of overall work experience?

I have 8+ years of experience while my spouse has 2.5 years. I am working for a small tech company here with only 4-5 employees in Singapore. Firm is US-based though.

Not going to be easy. Chance will be low. But let's see if your duration of stay and the kids born in Sg, make it happen for you. But please keep hopes low for now.

Hi there,
A quick admin question - my wife who is already a PR submitted a sponsored PR application for me (an EP holder) a few months back.
Not expecting the result any time soon given the processing times at the moment but what is the guidance on informing ICA about relevant changes in the meantime? What constitutes a change worth informing ICA about and what does not?
E.g. since applying, we've both had the regular annual increments to our salary and one of us also now has a new passport as the old one expired.
Appreciate your views!

Both of your salary updates are relevant. But whether it will make a difference - not sure. Depends on the amount, etc.
If your passport has been renewed, you need to update ICA. If it is her passport, anyway she needs to update her REP to link it with new passport.
