Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
Hello, I am a long time lurker here. I have applied for PR in first week of Dec 2020, still its in Pending status even after 14-15 month.
Recently saw new options like - change in address.
I have changed my address on last April 2021 and informed ICA through e-mail, and acknowledgement received from ICA.
After that no change in any particulars.
Still do I need to update my address through new option?
Thanks

You’re right about the inefficacy of consultants- I used to recommend them but over time I’ve realized they do close to nothing as far as improving your chances of success.Russ-in-sg wrote: ↑Sun, 20 Feb 2022 7:27 pmYou & SMS know your stuff, as we’d already paid the Immergration consultant (a waste of money fwiw…) we decided to buy our ticket and take our chances ~ application was swiftly rejected around the 4 month mark ~ just before the end of the year I think that it was around 23rd Dec or something.singaporeflyer wrote: ↑Wed, 28 Jul 2021 9:38 pmIn my view chance is surely less than 5%. Immigration consultant is adamant that we have a `strong case` and are `ticking boxes for SG gahman` but I take with a pinch of salt as they want our money...
What do you think ?
Negative because of
1. Ethnic quota
2. Short stay in SG - 0 Tax filings. We will recommend at least 2-3 filings.
3. Minimum 3-5 years of working in SG
I wanted to add the data point to help to contribute something back.
Next plan for us is to wait two full tax years and apply again circa Jan 2024 ~ hopefully we’ll meet the black box selection criteria and have success on the next application.

Fair chance- young, chinese, PR family members, reasonable salary, reasonable length of stay in SG.Ahlim321 wrote: ↑Mon, 21 Feb 2022 9:44 amHi I’m currently right on my 4 month mark of application and still waiting for a response. What do you think my chances are for approval?

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
Ethnicity and length of work in SG are a plus, salary is good as well. What I do think may seriously help your chances is the fact that you work in the govt sector, contributions may be seen as more valuable than say if you were working for an mnc.raymond.specter86 wrote: ↑Sat, 12 Feb 2022 3:22 pmHi All

I'd really love to see an updated list of what matters, or what one could actually do to improve one's chances, this forum is awesome, but can't help to feel that the pinnned resources are a little datedLisafuller wrote: ↑Thu, 24 Feb 2022 12:52 amYou’re right about the inefficacy of consultants- I used to recommend them but over time I’ve realized they do close to nothing as far as improving your chances of success.Russ-in-sg wrote: ↑Sun, 20 Feb 2022 7:27 pmYou & SMS know your stuff, as we’d already paid the Immergration consultant (a waste of money fwiw…) we decided to buy our ticket and take our chances ~ application was swiftly rejected around the 4 month mark ~ just before the end of the year I think that it was around 23rd Dec or something.singaporeflyer wrote: ↑Wed, 28 Jul 2021 9:38 pm

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
Most of the factors that increase chances are out of ones control- ethnicity is a huge one. What you can do is wait a longer period of time before applying (typically 2-3 years), work to receive promotions/raises (to alleviate the governments fear of you becoming a financial liability), and get settled with kids.Russ-in-sg wrote: ↑Thu, 24 Feb 2022 11:17 pmI'd really love to see an updated list of what matters, or what one could actually do to improve one's chances, this forum is awesome, but can't help to feel that the pinnned resources are a little datedLisafuller wrote: ↑Thu, 24 Feb 2022 12:52 amYou’re right about the inefficacy of consultants- I used to recommend them but over time I’ve realized they do close to nothing as far as improving your chances of success.Russ-in-sg wrote: ↑Sun, 20 Feb 2022 7:27 pm

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
Was the salary back then combined or individual? Any plans for kids? If yes I’d say hold off until you’ve had a child and apply as a family, otherwise no harm trying again. You’ve stayed in Singapore an additional 2 years since your last application, thats usually enough time.
