Married for 5 years, divorced for 4. This equals 9 years. The child is 9. Easy to calculate.

LTVP+ is given to those who are married for more than 3 years.Myasis Dragon wrote: ↑Fri, 18 Jun 2021 2:06 amCall me confused. starxu says, "married for 5 years. divorced for 4 years," yet on LTVP+.
So how?
Possible scenario:
First year - Given LTVP valid for 1 year
Second year - Given LTVP valid for 1 year
Third year - Given LTVP valid for 2 years
Fifth year (before the divorce) - Given LTVP+, can be valid up to 5 years which is well within the 9 year range.

So if that's the case, then possibly the marriage wasn't a marriage of convenience but a shotgun marriage? At any rate she might have a problem getting PR although if she has full custody having an SGC child would constitute a family nucleus. Not sure if there is an easy way around this.

The main owner must be above 21 yrs old and either a SG or PR.

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
As the child is a minor, I have to wonder if the child has dual citizenship (till 21). She should see AWARE and the Women's Charter if the child does not have dual citizenship. If the child does, I'm afraid she may be out of luck. Guess we need to wait till we get more input from the OP with more details.

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
Thanks everyone for your input. I am only eligible to buy a resale Hdb if I have PR. My child is Singaporen. No dual citizenship. That’s why I am asking how to appeal to ica to get PR. According to ica website there is no PR scheme for my situation, unless I wait until my child turn 21 and apply PR under the aged parent scheme. Any advice much appreciated.

Zero before June 2020 and unless major difference between your application in Jun 2020, likely to be no different outcome either.

I don't know but it would be worth a phone call to find out, it's another avenue to explore and you need to make contacts with all the potential places you can. They might and they might not. It's worth a shot at any rate.

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
Hi there,
This forum is extremely helpful!
I want to provide a bit of background about me before I ask questions:
I am a 30 year old Malaysian Chinese EP holder working in a software company here in SG earning about $86k basic + $17k variable. I've only been in Singapore for 11 months now and only just completed my first tax assessment.
On 2 Jun 2021, I applied for PR for both myself and my spouse who is also Malaysian Chinese of the same age and still residing and working in Malaysia. My wife is a chartered accountant at a Malaysian FMCG company.
My objective with this PR application is to reunite with my wife as the closed borders and LDR are seriously taking a toll on both of us.
Now for the questions:
1. What are my chances, especially in today's climate of increased scrutiny on granting residency for foreign talents?
2. A few days ago, I noticed next to my wife's PR application status (still "Pending") that she has been assigned a FIN number. Is this an indicator of any significant progress with the application?
Appreciate your sharing!
