Hi everyone, my PR application just got approved. My profile as below:

Myself:
Age: 30
Race: Vietnamese
Nationality: Vietnamese
Length of stay: since 2010
Education: Bachelor of Civil Engineering NUS
Work: 8 year, Construction industry
Salary: 60K annual excl bonus
Pass: EP
Married Oct 2020, no kid yet

Wife:
Age: 34
Race: Vietnamese
Nationality: Singaporean
Length of stay: since 2007, PR since 2012, SC since Nov 2020
Education: Accounting Degree NTU
Salary: 84K annual excl bonus

- 1st Application: Under PTS. Applied Nov 19. Rejected May 20.
- 2nd Application: Wife Sponsor. Applied Feb 21. Rejected Sep 21.
- 3rd Application: Wife Sponsor. Applied Apr 22. Status changed to approved on 21 Dec 22 and received IPA letter on today 23 Dec 22. There is almost no change to our profile since the previous rejection, except that my wife got a big bonus early this year

This is a pleasant, but really surprised Christmas gift, as with my profile and the supposed enormous backlog from ICA, we expected to wait a long time before receiving any reply.

Being a lurker with occasional posts in this forum, I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the knowledge bank here, and especially thank SMS for your well wishes last time (if you still remember haha).

I consider my case extremely lucky though, and would not recommend anyone to follow my timeline. It is best to stick to the advises in this forum, and not to worry too much about the outcome :)
Many congrats! I would have thought you'd be OK this time or next but always good to remove the uncertainty and understand the anxiety given prior applications (and other comments you've made here before).

Anyways, congrats again!

Main change is duration of your Marriage in the recent application.
Hi SF, yes I would reckon so. But at the time of application we haven't celebrated our 2-year anniversary yet, so we didn't really expect much from that. In fact, now we don't recall why we were so hurry with the application at that time, since we alrdy proceed with our resale flat purchase
Don't think ICA is so calculative. Longer marriage is testament to the strength of the relationship which is a green flag to them.
Yup, I may have been thinking too much. In the end, my wife being SC really helped, both with the application and my mentality.

Thanks! I may have quite a bit of insecurities before haha, thankfully the wait is over.

Looking back, I feel blessed with all of my 3 applications, as the results (either way) came relatively on time, 6-8 months and not 1-2 years.

would appreciate your thoughts.

Got a large envelope from ICA in the mailbox!
After almost 21 months of waiting and past rejections, it is really exciting to see a positive outcome!!!

Thank you all for continuing to share and helping to keep the expectations real. If I can be of any more help, other than a datapoint, happy to do so.

Congratulations. Patience is the key. Will never know if the Patent helped or not, but it certainly didn't detract from it. I'm guessing that it combined with the other uplifts was enough obviously, to give it the final push you have been hoping for. Oh, and thank you for coming back to let us know the outcome and the length of time it took. Again, Congrats!

Hi Everyone, hope all is well!

Unfortunately, I found out in December 2022 that our PR application was rejected.

Since I submitted the application in January 2022, I received a promotion at work, which resulted in a 20% base salary increase. Additionally, my daughter started nursery in Singapore in August 2022.

I wanted to get this groups thoughts on whether it would be worthwhile appealing the decision based on these changes to my profile or whether it makes more sense to wait a while and reapply?

Thanks!

By what metrics is the ica's decision not valid, hence worth appealing?

Best option is to simply accept the outcome, apply again in a year or two, and have a solid plan b.

Hi everyone,

I am considering whether to apply PR for my wife on the 2nd or 3rd year ROM anniversary, would like to seek opinion here about the success rate
Our profiles;

Me:
Age: 29
Sex : Male
Race : Chinese
Religion : None
Marital Status : Married since 2019 Sept
Highest Education: Bachelor Degree in NUS in Computing (Receiving my MBA in October 2021)
Job: Used to be Civil servant at a Govt Agency, changing job in July to private sector
Length of employment with my current employer: Just changed job
Salary: 95k SGD per annum + some bonus
Singaporean male

Spouse:
Age: 29
Sex : Female
Race : Chinese
Religion : None
Highest Education: Bachelor degree in Chinese Journalism from Baptist University of HK
Length of stay in SG: since 23 June
Pass: LTVP valid till 12 July 2022 with PLOC
Job: works for a Singaporean company in Hong Kong since 2016, pending formal relocation to Singapore once our resale HDB is ready at the end of year.
Salary: 90k SGD per annum

I am wondering if I should apply PR for her on our 2nd year anniversary this year or do the PR application in parallel with her LTVP renewal next year. Her SG work probably will only officially start next year. I understand I just changed my job and probably should wait a bit.

Just wanted to check if our odds are high!
Based on recent trends, applying after 1 year of marriage should mostly be Ok. It used to be 2 years after marriage before. Recently seen approvals after or less than 1 year of marriage too.

Definitely not counting chickens before they hatch! By ‘finalises’ I meant a decision either way - not necessarily approved. Good to know!
At least you could have let us know if the chickens hatched or not :???: Although it might have been quite tough given your profile. Hope to hear if it is positive.
