I would tend to look at those naturalized Indians in other countries as a risk here in Singapore, however, I do believe that there is merit IF the Indians in question are only ethnically Indian and not previously an Indian National, e.g., 2nd or 3rd generation Indian born in another country and having citizenship by birthright in that country.smoulder wrote: ↑Thu, 10 Nov 2022 10:42 amThe quota for Indians is most likely a common bucket and not separate ones. However, nationality is a consideration for sure. For instance, Malaysian Indians (they are not naturalized) are looked upon more favorably as long as they meet other requirements.omshastry wrote: ↑Thu, 10 Nov 2022 10:29 amCongrats to him, and all the best to you!
A quick question for mods if they are better aware - would ICA look at ethnicity only or at the combo of nationality + ethnicity? e.g. a naturalized South African who moved from India during her childhood and as an Indian citizen then - would she be considered in the same quota as other Indians? Or would she have an advantage/disadvantage?
Naturalized citizens of other countries - I'm not sure how much of empirical data exists here, but I distinctly recall a suggestion from one of the senior members that Indians who have been able to meet the citizenship requirements of another country may be looked upon more favorably - if true, I'm guessing that it would depend on "which" country they have been able to obtain citizenship of.

An update for this application. My submit additional docs button disappeared, application status is still pending. Yet I can access HDB and CPF portals now via Singpass. Am I right to feel optimistic?cavemaner wrote: ↑Thu, 07 Jul 2022 8:42 amHi all,

Just wait 2 weeks for your result. Do not do this back-testing method on other websites lest you get your application rejected.
LTVP holders can also access HDB website during retake application too...

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021
Hi everyone, my PR application just got approved. My profile as below:
Myself:
Age: 30
Race: Vietnamese
Nationality: Vietnamese
Length of stay: since 2010
Education: Bachelor of Civil Engineering NUS
Work: 8 year, Construction industry
Salary: 60K annual excl bonus
Pass: EP
Married Oct 2020, no kid yet
Wife:
Age: 34
Race: Vietnamese
Nationality: Singaporean
Length of stay: since 2007, PR since 2012, SC since Nov 2020
Education: Accounting Degree NTU
Salary: 84K annual excl bonus
- 1st Application: Under PTS. Applied Nov 19. Rejected May 20.
- 2nd Application: Wife Sponsor. Applied Feb 21. Rejected Sep 21.
- 3rd Application: Wife Sponsor. Applied Apr 22. Status changed to approved on 21 Dec 22 and received IPA letter on today 23 Dec 22. There is almost no change to our profile since the previous rejection, except that my wife got a big bonus early this year
This is a pleasant, but really surprised Christmas gift, as with my profile and the supposed enormous backlog from ICA, we expected to wait a long time before receiving any reply.
Being a lurker with occasional posts in this forum, I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the knowledge bank here, and especially thank SMS for your well wishes last time (if you still remember haha).
I consider my case extremely lucky though, and would not recommend anyone to follow my timeline. It is best to stick to the advises in this forum, and not to worry too much about the outcome

Hi SF, yes I would reckon so. But at the time of application we haven't celebrated our 2-year anniversary yet, so we didn't really expect much from that. In fact, now we don't recall why we were so hurry with the application at that time, since we alrdy proceed with our resale flat purchasesingaporeflyer wrote: ↑Fri, 23 Dec 2022 11:52 pmMain change is duration of your Marriage in the recent application.

Don't think ICA is so calculative. Longer marriage is testament to the strength of the relationship which is a green flag to them.Pantsgrenadier wrote: ↑Sat, 24 Dec 2022 12:01 amHi SF, yes I would reckon so. Many congrats! I would have thought you'd be OK this time or next but always good to remove the uncertainty and understand the anxiety given prior applications (and other comments you've made here before).Pantsgrenadier wrote: ↑Fri, 23 Dec 2022 11:35 pmHi everyone, my PR application just got approved. Yup, I may have been thinking too much. In the end, my wife being SC really helped, both with the application and my mentality.Lisafuller wrote: ↑Sat, 24 Dec 2022 1:44 amDon't think ICA is so calculative. Thanks! I may have quite a bit of insecurities before haha, thankfully the wait is over.
Looking back, I feel blessed with all of my 3 applications, as the results (either way) came relatively on time, 6-8 months and not 1-2 years.
