hi, i have been working in sg since dec 2019, changed job on oct 2022 (current employer). just based on this would it be better to apply on oct or december? does ICA review the duration at date of application or its a floating date until they provide the approval/rejection?

ICA won't disclose that.

You are trying to analyze and time the application. No one except ICA knows the exact details on this. Duration of work in SG is not the only factor for PR application. There are a group of factors

Hi all,

Just wanted to update that I got a letter in the post today with IPA after 1 year 1 month.

FYI, I changed jobs and got an increase in salary which I updated a month ago. Not sure if it's a coincidence but 1 month after that update we got the approval. Anyway, take the anecdotal data for what it's worth.

Feel elated!

Thanks for all the useful data points in this forum. Will be scouring the IPA process posts now :)

Hello All,

After wait of 22 months, last week I got update from ICA that PR application has been rejected.
Feeling sad about out come after long wait, But accepts it with heavy heart.

I am not sure what caused for rejection as we never know.

I am not sure that should I appeal or wait for a year to re-apply.
Please help with suggestion.

Thanks.

Can you please provide things like your race, age, etc, other details? Going by your post history you haven't disclosed any of this information, as such it would be difficult for any forum member to provide you with advice without an accurate picture of your profile.

Just sharing some information that could be useful to others. Applied in Dec 2021. Got a reply two days ago to submit 1) my payslip and 2) my wife's bachelor's degree certificates and transcripts (we did not furnish these details in the submission), 3) my wife's master's degree certificate (we only submitted provisional and the officer mentioned about it by saying that only provisional was submitted). Fingers crossed.

You don't. ICA doesn't want them, will not read them and if you try to double down and submit them attached to requested docs you could find yourself rejected because you don't know how to follow directions. ONLY give them exactly what they ask for. They are overworked and submitting worthless/useless pieces of paper full of superlatives which are rarely factual only pisses them off. Do yourself a big favor, only give them what they ask for.

I did not attach any cover letter with the additional documents they asked for. Did not annoy them further. They might already be annoyed as I did not furnish my wife's bachelor degree certificates and transcripts with my original application.

Do let us know of the outcome, and also your profile.

9 months into the application, if they are asking for documents after seeing your profile, I'd assume you have a good chance. Else, they could have just sent a rejection letter (they don't have the docs, but you'd have provided your + your spouse's details to them anyway).

Though the veterans here may think I'm being too optimistic, a lil bit of hope doesn't hurt anyone :) .
