Hello All,

After wait of 22 months, last week I got update from ICA that PR application has been rejected.
Feeling sad about out come after long wait, But accepts it with heavy heart.

I am not sure what caused for rejection as we never know.

I am not sure that should I appeal or wait for a year to re-apply.
Please help with suggestion.

Thanks.
The only official hints you'll get for what they look for is described here: https://www.mha.gov.sg/mediaroom/parlia ... lications/

You can evaluate for yourself to see if you've had any positive changes to the sorts of criteria listed.
Which is exactly what we have been saying here for donkey's years.

Just sharing some information that could be useful to others. Applied in Dec 2021. Got a reply two days ago to submit 1) my payslip and 2) my wife's bachelor's degree certificates and transcripts (we did not furnish these details in the submission), 3) my wife's master's degree certificate (we only submitted provisional and the officer mentioned about it by saying that only provisional was submitted). Fingers crossed.

You don't. ICA doesn't want them, will not read them and if you try to double down and submit them attached to requested docs you could find yourself rejected because you don't know how to follow directions. ONLY give them exactly what they ask for. They are overworked and submitting worthless/useless pieces of paper full of superlatives which are rarely factual only pisses them off. Do yourself a big favor, only give them what they ask for.

I did not attach any cover letter with the additional documents they asked for. Did not annoy them further. They might already be annoyed as I did not furnish my wife's bachelor degree certificates and transcripts with my original application.

Do let us know of the outcome, and also your profile.

9 months into the application, if they are asking for documents after seeing your profile, I'd assume you have a good chance. Else, they could have just sent a rejection letter (they don't have the docs, but you'd have provided your + your spouse's details to them anyway).

Though the veterans here may think I'm being too optimistic, a lil bit of hope doesn't hurt anyone :) .

They can ask more documents to check genuineness, audit purpose at random, etc. Doesn't mean positive always.

No, at least I don't think you are being too optimistic, I think you don't have a clue what you are saying and you definitely haven't done any research on this board either or you wouldn't have made such a statement.

Profile looks ok. If rejected its because you applied too soon or because you're a flight risk.

No, at least I don't think you are being too optimistic, I think you don't have a clue what you are saying and you definitely haven't done any research on this board either or you wouldn't have made such a statement.
Hey SMS, I tried my best to find a profile where ICA asked for some certificates + payslips but was eventually rejected. Alas could not find one of such. Would you be able to share such a post if you have time? Thanks.

Finding such a profile will not help too because your application and the other applicant's application, may look similar on surface, but there will be 20 other differences that ICA can see between the profiles, that we can't see

Don't increase your anxiety by doing comparison. If you look at what more can be improved longterm for both you and ICA, that will help the application

That's like trying to find an applicant with 2 hands, 2 feet and 2 testicles and hoping that similarity is good enough for success.
