This is an equalization process that a lot of MNC practice. Because they are a better employer, obviously one that cares about it employees a bit more. They give the EP holders the equivalent of the employers CPF contribution to the employee as part of their package (it is not paid into any CPF account as that is non-existent until you get PR as you know. In all probability, like most that practice this, there is a codicil in their employment contract that if they later take up PR, then their total pay package will be reduced by the amount of employer CPF that would have to be paid. This way, the employee is getting the same package as locals are getting but in hand as long as their are not PR.

A lot of Int'l firms that have been here since the 1980's do this as back in the late 80 EP holders had to contribute to the CPF Board. My close friend (kiwi) has left his CPF in place from the time of the Asia Badger Refinery Upgrade project that decade. until today. It has more than trebled in size since then.

Hello, have yet to apply, but would like some advice and check the probability of my PR application getting approved.

Age : 23
Race : Indonesian Chinese
Gender : Male
Marital Status : Single
Education : Bachelor of Science (information system) SMU
Years in Singapore : 17 years
Salary : Basic SGD 70k excluding bonus
Pass : Employment Pass
Work Experience: Currently on my 4th working month

Applied for PR once during my secondary school days, but was rejected.

Also, should i apply it after my 6th month payslip mark or after submitting income tax in the following year of 2022?

Thanks all!

6 months is sufficient actually... if you studied here and you're now working here as well, approval is virtually guaranteed especially if you're Malaysian/Indonesian-Chinese

Apply after 6 months and if rejected reapply after 2 years with 2 tax returns and you will be good.

I had reviewed my application 3 days after submitting and discovered that error by chance
Why did you not email ICA back then?
They would have corrected your profile.

Growing (Position) is relatively ok than growing income in the same company. Assuming you are in the same company, over the next 5 years & get atleast 1 promotion, then your salary increase over the 5 years would at max ~30-35% which is not a lot if you rather switch to 2 companies in 5 years as you mentioned SEs usually change every 3 years. So a person earning 150K-200K annually can earn max 200K-270K over the 5 years if he sticks to one company. Is that considered a substantial income growth from a PR application perspective? Do note, this is the best case scenario and a period of 5 years is a big timeframe.

IMHO, i dont think so there is much you can do to grow income by sticking at the same org. Am happy to be corrected
1 promotion for 5 years is bad in my opinion. Either the employee doesn't grow, or the company doesn't appreciate them.

Unless the employee's position is already the highest possible one (like a senior principal engineer in the tech field, for example. Or the head of engineering in management).

Not so. You would be surprised how many do just that. In fact we recently had another case on here early this year. Based on facts as we see them, I always ask the hard questions that seriously need to be asked else we may not be giving good advice. We could blow smoke up your butt, but that's not what we do here.
