I'm afraid I have to bow to our resident eagle eye here, MOCHS. She caught what I missed. I don't see children on the cards either as with both nearing 40 I'm sure you all know the hazards of childbirth once you reach 40 if it's a first pregnancy. Unless you have been married at least 2 years, your odds of success decreases dramatically. Unless something out of the ordinary happens you will probably see a rejection unless two years have transpired prior to the date of application. I'll have to adjust my assessment to 40~50% but hope that I am wrong.

As more senior members of the form have pointed out, chances are low to fair now but will certainly increase when you have kids. Still, don’t be too caught up with playing the statistics game and just let nature take its course.

(did not want to create a new thread, but this maybe a little out of topic).
I've been in Singapore for (almost) 2 years now, but I'm starting a new job next Month.
Once I start in the new company, ideally I want to immediately apply for PR, but one of the required documents is this:
A9 Current Employer’s letter stating the date of employment, position held, salary per month for the past 6 months with breakdown into basic, overtime and allowance per month
Do I need to wait until my 6th Month in the new company?
Regardless of the probability, can I technically apply under that condition?

Better to wait for 6 months in new company and then reapply. else you need to submit letters from past company + latest company and still low chance of getting it approved

If I ever worked in ICA and saw someone submit just one month’s payslip when the requirements clearly states “6 months payslip”, I would assume they are unable to understand simple instructions.

If I worked in the ICA, I would have the coders modify the site to reject people trying to hit the submit button without the correct documents

It has been around 20 months of our PR application.
Normally I check status once in a week with positive expectation from past 1 year.
Should I continue to wait or its good idea to ask status update from ICA?
Also, please assist me how should I ask update about my application?

The question wasn't about the payslip though, was it? It was about the letter that need to contain the 6 months salary breakdown.
And since there's technically no restrictions on how soon you can apply, I thought I'd ask in the forum.
I'm aware there's another requirement for the payslip, which only states "Payslips for the last 6 months;" which could mean someone could supply 6 months payslips from different emoloyer.

^ You could but it raises questions on why you are so eager/impatient/desperate to apply for PR one month into working with your new company instead of waiting for 6 months in the same company just like everyone else.
It’s also a matter of convenience & lesser paperwork. By waiting 6 months in company B you just submit one letter of employment and 6 months company B payslips.
If you mix and match, you’re gonna have to submit previous company A’s letter of employment/resignation, previous company A’s X months of payslips, current company B’s letter of employment and current company B’s X months of payslips. It is just unnecessarily complicated.
ICA processes a lot of PR applications, it makes processing easier for them and yourself.
