Hello everyone,

I am a noobee to this forum and went through some of the posts.
Here is the story of my SG life.Seeking your advice to make strong application on first attempt given that ethnicity quota is not on my side. Planning to apply this year

Myself:
37 , Indian , Male, EP in SG
Education : Bachelors Engineering
Job : Software Engineer , AI/ML/Digitalization
Length of stay : 6+ years
Salary :~180 pa base + bonus in banking ( have gradually worked up starting from 70k pa since my first job in SG. currently my 3rd EP)
previously worked in AI projects for reputable non banking local companies before to turbo charge their digitalisation journey

Wife:
32 , Indian , Female,DP
Education : Masters
Job : Marketing
Length of stay : 6+ years
Salary : ~36k pa

Child :
Daughter 3 years old

Other info : regular participation in GRC events for local integration and some contributions . I can get letter from my community GRC head
regular monitory donations(IRAS recognised) to support local needy communities for past 3 years
wife's participation in some local events in SG
good investments in retirement accounts, govt bonds in SG + health insurance policies for family + child education plan policies/ endowment plans to be able to easily fund in future

any advice to better my chances would be really helpful

Thanks
Participation in GRC - No add point. As it has been heavily abuse by those who-want-to-get-PR.
Donation - No add point. If you want to use that to add point to your application. Donation is come from your willing to help other; not how it will help to get-PR
Investment - that's your own money and investment. No add point.
Health insurance - That's for your own family. No add point

The negatives:
- Racial quota is against you.

- You’re still single, SG prefers married couples to boost the population.

- Salary is a bit high and you’re seen as a “flight risk” as you might easily leave for other countries that give you higher pay.

Another positive/negative is your occupation/industry which you just provided. A lot might depend on which bank you are/were working for during the past two years, considering all the financial crimes/losses being incurred by some banks with slipshod security in the software side of things.

If you didn't get for 300K, it is surely not the salary that is the issue. So, 350K wont make any difference for that salary part.

My guess is that the outcome will be the same.

Appreciate the feedback and responses! Sounds like it’s a try and hope for the best with ten years stay.

Yes, please write to ICA and update the information about birth of your son, even though they will already have this information.

Good chance to get PR.

Hi sundaymorningstaple,

Wanted to ask something.
I know every time you suggest waiting for at least 2 years before applying again after one's SPR application is rejected. Given 16+ years of your experience here, how many (in percent) followed this advice and got approval after waiting like this? Not necessarily, after the second try. Could be rejection, two years, rejection, two years, approval. The sort of folk I mean is non-CM, not married to locals, not billionaires who have created 1000s of jobs for locals, not exceptional brain surgeons. Rather, ordinary Caucasian, Eurasian, SEA or Indian families with children, in the IT, finance, or other sectors where one doesn't really stand out, with steadily growing income.

Asking because what I have stumbled upon on this forum was several stories of Indian, Filipino and other non-CM applicants applying every two or three years and getting rejected each time.

I am one of those who initially got rejected a few times, waited and then got my PR after N years. Later converted to a SG passport too. Growth in career and patience is very important. But it is not easy. Initially I was impatient too and was reprimanded in the same forum :)
