What do restaurants use for their ice green tea?

Post by abbby » Mon, 28 Dec 2020 11:45 pm

I've tried replicating the ice green tea that restaurants use Ie sushi tei, kuriya etc, but somehow doesn't taste and look the same, anyone know what kind or brand of tea bags, or matcha tea they are using?

The trick lies not in the brand of tea bags, but rather the duration for which they are steeped. Many people don’t know this, but green tea is only supposed to be steeped for around 1.5 minutes. Any longer and it begins to turn bitter. This is why when most people steep their tea for too long, it turns out bitter and loses its fragrance. Try timing your tea next time you make it, you should notice a big change.
