Having be in Asia for almost 4 decades, with a Tamil/Malay/English speaking wife and a English/Chinese speaking daughter & son, I believe I know the difference between the Chinese "Tonal" language, and the tone(tenor) in which it is spoken. One changes the meaning, the other changes the perception of friend or foe. As a westerner (of which I am), my reference would obviously be via be perception of friend or foe as english is not really a tonal language. Anybody who was reading the thread in an expat forum would have grasped that unless they were basically a troll. Good try troll. No Joke. Your perception isn't wide enough (narrow-minded comes to mind).
