Just a note (since I have read this group 100's of times) to say that we got accepted as PR recently as a family.
Lots of very useful information we read up about here for our application which took about 6 months to process.
Just wanted to say thank you to all the people here.
Roll on to CPF !

There is nothing on their profile that would be useful to others. Each application is scrutinized on it own merits. If you been here long enough you would already know the information is of no import to another's application.

Cultural compatibility are policy goals that have been well publicized.
Edit:
“As a nation, the ideal must be to see and manage ourselves as one united people. However, the lived reality is that race is deeply ingrained in how humans relate to each other, and it will be some time yet before this division disappears from our consciousness.”

“ This is in line with the Government’s commitment to maintain the racial balance in the citizen population, as Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong stated in Parliament in 2013. This enables us to preserve social stability and the multiracial character of our society.”

How about Chinese outside of Malaysia? Is there any difference in preference?
Indonesian?
Other ASEAN?
Other Asian outside mainland?
Mainland?
Outside Asia?
Or all non-Malaysian lumped into the same basket?

While Singapore’s multi-ethnic population may suggest on the surface that any foreigner who are Chinese, Indian or Malay can fit in, the reality is that Singaporean Chinese, Indians and Malays have shared values and expectations and have made accommodations on how to get along.
“When you come in from abroad, you may be the same ethnic group, but it's not quite the same culture. And there can be a clashing of gears and we have to be able to manage that,” Mr Lee said.

My quick takes
There will be quotas for each race, and probably a points based ranking for every nationality. ie Malaysian Chinese ranks top, followed by Indonesian Chinese and so forth.
Basically Chinese from multi ethnic countries takes precedence.
Likewise for the Indian quota, Malaysian Indians probably gets precedence. And then, Southern Indians over Northen Indians.
Though, I may well be wrong.

In that case there is probably a cultural affinity score by country or even by region... probably stratified into several categories from most to least. Malaysia is probably the only country occupying category 1. Category 2 might include Indonesia, Taiwan & Hong Kong. Probably one issue with other ASEAN Chinese, they tend to more assimilated into the culture of their home country. For example, Thai Chinese are often barely distinguishable from their native countrymen. Filipino Chinese are also quite adapted, but not as much as Thai Chinese.
